   30 minutes? Uhh…no, but not hard either. The bed goes together easily, and I was pleasantly surprised that the holes were all drilled properly, which anyone who has put together furniture like this before can appreciate. The wood is a laminate and pretty thin, but for the price, that is to be expected. It looks good though. The lift mechanism picked up this 80lb mattress with ease. A couple hints putting it together…if you have your own tools, use them. A proper allan head or even better the allan head ‘T’ wrenches would have made this go a LOT faster. The supplied one is fine, but it is a combo screwdriver which makes it a little harder to get the bolts to turn in the tighter spots. The other tip is when installing the pistons, leave the nuts a touch loose…rookie mistake on that one. Other than using a nicer wood, they could make a huge improvement on this by just having a little cross-bracing. The whole thing is kind of ‘wobbly’ when the mattress is up and can come out of square really easily. It is something I will probably try to upgrade myself. So, for the price, it absolutely deserves 5 starts, but it could be just a little better.

   As a professional handyman, I’ve assembled a LOT of furniture for clients. I was first struck by the level of quality of the construction. Most beds like this would be made exclusively of MDF or pressed board. This bed has a complete metal structure. All parts were clearly labeled. The instructions were easy to follow. I was able to assemble the entire bed in about 2 hours by myself. There were no issues or do-overs and the bed is really nice looking.

   Want a kid to clean their room fast, get them this bed and tell them not to store things under it! Its a heavy box so be prepared. UPS will hate you! good quality but bc of the weight defiantly check all the parts are good. We had a panel that was slightly damaged in transit. Not enough to fuss over it but it could have been. My kid loves it yours will too.

   I chose and spent more money on this bed instead of another because of the reviews on upholsteredbedframe.com. Delivery was quick. It came with good instructions and was easy to put together. Note, its very heavy so you’ll definitely need help getting it inside, 188 lbs. If I recall. I love how easy this bed lifts to provide all of that storage underneath. I just ordered plastic totes with lids that will fit nicely under it. The outlet’s and USB plug ins on the headboard are fantastic, we only have 2 outlets in this room, 1 being behind this bed. This will be used in our guest bedroom so I’m unable to comment further regarding sturdiness for everyday use but it seems pretty solid.

   Pulled out all the parts and found that one board was broken through (see pic). My guess is it happened during shipping even though there was no damage to the box. I was also missing one screw of a certain size but I had 3 of another left over and that worked in its spot. The headboard’s front board had discoloration. (Pic of that also). I give it 1 star because it does seem very sturdy as I went ahead and put it together because I needed a bed frame. The board with the hole is on the opposite side of the room. The spot on the headboard is bothersome as it’s in plain site. Just be aware.

   Great bed frame for small spaces. The hardest part was carrying the box up my staircase since it was a bit heavy and long. The frame was very easy to assemble and only took no more than 2 hours. There was 1 screw missing but it came with a lot of extra pieces and I found a good replacement. Hydraulic lift system is smooth and the overall materials are all sturdy. I am surprised I am able to fit my big travel luggage under it, however it’s very snug when I put the bed down and truthfully, if it was 1-2 inches taller, it would be perfect fit, but nonetheless the storage space still fits a lot. The outlet shelf on the headboard is also a great feature. I can easily charge my phone and keep my eyeglasses and remote on it so they don’t get lost in my covers.

   damaged panel, missing essential part, overseas manufacture . recommend you buy local . Update, I contacted the store thru upholsteredbedframe.com and they said they would send be a new bed. The bed went together easy and good for the price
