   First off, the box arrived completely destroyed! Second, NONE of the screw holes were correct. We ended up re-tapping ALL the holes. Re-tapping people!! For anyone without a screw tap device, this bed will not go together! Third, while it does look nice, and it is sturdy enough, the legs protrude out about an inch too far. Have seriously hit my knee two times so far… Would be a single star, but it does look nice… Too cumbersome to return, will probably donate it when I find a better one… DO NOT BUY!!!

   This bargain metal platform bed frame offers a lot of value for the money, with some design features you don’t usually see in an under-$200 bed frame; I think it will prove to have been a good purchase, but it’s by no means perfect. THE POSITIVES The design: The “platform” sits below the “lip” of the frame. With most other cheap metal bed frames, your mattress is floating on top of the frame. With this bed, it’s “nestled” a bit by the frame for more of a finished furniture look. You have a place to tuck in your sheets. The legs: They look a bit spindly in the photos but they are quite sturdy, and again they have a bit more design to them than most cheap metal bed legs. The support: The Queen size has 4 center legs along a center cross rail to provide structural support. I’m not worried about this sagging or creeking. And the legs are in a row, so you still have all the under bed space for storage. THE NEGATIVES The instructions: The instructions led me astray twice. A “this sides up” sticker on one bed rail was stuck on the rail FACING THE WRONG WAY. You can’t make this up. And the picture for the center rail bolts led me to install them facing the wrong way — I caught that before I had done them all. It says allow 30 minutes to build. You should leave a lot more time than that. The hardware: It shouldn’t surprise you but the bolts aren’t the greatest quality and the little wrench they provide is weak. Use your own ratchet to save yourself frustration, and work carefully or else you’ll strip the bolt edges. The finish quality: My bed arrived with no scratches or dents, and the wood slats were all in perfect condition. But the screw holes and other edges can be rough. My daughter pretty quickly got a metal splinter from one of the rails. Be careful. The engineering: It seems sturdy, but this is not fine furniture. See photos. The edges are secure but don’t meet perfectly. The wood slats have a bowed design that should really hold onto your mattress, but I’m also worried that they could tear into the protective bottom of the mattress cover.

   Well made, easy to assemble, all metal except for the slats, very sturdy and looks great! Only thing I don’t like is that the mattress only sits 10 inches off the floor. I thought it would be 14 inches off the floor but it sits down in the frame. Now my headboard is too high. Bought this and a new mattress thinking the height would be perfect for my headboard but because of the inset now it’s 4 inches too short. I’m keeping it though, I’ll just have to move my headboard. First world problems right?!

   Item arrived missing 1 of the plastic connecting pieces, so it cannot be fully installed. 2 of the wooden planks are just sitting under the bed for now. Hoping they can send that individual piece so I don’t have to return the entire bed… other than that, the box arrived completely opened on 1 end and pretty banged up. There are a few scratches on the parts that show, and you can tell it is a quick factory make but for the price I think it’s fair. So far no noise, I’ll update this review if that changes and if they send me the missing piece. 1/5 stars for incomplete order

   I had experienced a defect with my original bed frame and the vendor worked with me to coordinate a replacement immediately. They worked directly with the manufacturer on my behalf and made it such a smooth experience. Kind and respectful! The new frame is sturdy and appears to be without the defect (more solid welding). I am incredibly impressed by both the vendor and Modway for providing such a genuinely positive experience. If you have an issue with your order, give them a chance and let them know. They will work to make it right.

    It’s a mix review. I like the frame. Looks great and seems to be made well. I would give the frame a 5. The wood slats are aweful. They are maybe 3/8 of an inch and there is no way it’s rated for the weight they mention. I’m 215 lbs, and if I sit on the ends, the slats push down far enough that they pop out. When I lay on the bed with my 5 year old, it feels like the slats are going to break. And the connection of the slats are a plastic piece, that barely holds. The wood slats are a 1. Adding a center bar running head to toe would solve this. Or heavier duty slat. Edit…day 2, one slat already broke.
