The bed was pretty easy to assemble. I was a bit worried when my husband unboxed the pieces but the slats on the headboard slides into place and does not require screws to hold in so that was a breeze. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it really was to put all the pieces together. I think it took us 45 minutes. My husband even said “Wow, they really dummy proofed the assembly process.” The bed arrived intact and looks beautiful once set up. My only complaint is that the bed creak when an adult sit or lay on it. I bought this for my 2 yr 7 month old so it won’t be an issue. We have a thin memory foam mattress for now until the new mattress arrives. I can definitely feel all of the slats under the matress when I sit on the bed. Definitely need a thicker mattress or a flat board on top of the slats. Honestly, the bed is beautiful and more solid than I expected for the price. It’s even cheaper than IKEA but looks more sophisticated.

got for the kid, very nice quality, very good seller. important, I ended up buying 12″ mattress, its too high for my toddler, should get right thickness for kid (I think its 4 or 6″ – bedsmart have the right thickness on their website). I compensated that with bed guard and the toddler can climb on it and get down)

My son wanted a gray bed and nightstand for his next step up from a twin. We looked at dozens of different beds, including several at the pricier home stores (PB, CB, WE, etc). His room is not that large so this is perfect in looking stylish without overtaking the space.
My specific requirements for the bed: 1) must have single piece of wood for the side rails – it’s a way to cheapen the product and I don’t like the look of the extra support legs under the bed; 2) must be good construction; and 3) come with enough slats to support the bed. This bed met those requirements and then some. It has a metal beam that attaches to the head/foot boards so it can accommodate a trundle, which we did not purchase. We also purchased the matching nightstand and are pleased with the construction, size and price. upholsteredbedframe.com did a great job delivering it without a scratch.
One suggestion would be to add some wood glue to the vertical slats when you assemble the headboard. It’s fine without it, but in hindsight I would have gone the small extra step.
