It was fairly quick to put this daybed together – only about an hour. It’s all wood and the directions are easy to follow. I highly recommend this daybed for both sleeping and sitting on.
**Update**
The front board cracked and is now a hideous eye sore. I’m really disappointed that it’s too late to return this and surprised that something solid wood is such poor quality. :/

The box was a little beat up when it came and there was a chip on one of the pieces of wood (luckily it’s on the back of the bed so you can’t see it), but overall assembly was mostly easy! I do recommend having someone help you because some of the pieces can be a little heavy when putting it together. I was also skeptical about getting a twin xl mattress vs a twin because of a lot of other people in the reviews said that it wouldn’t fit although the dimensions were along the lines of a twin xl. I just went with it and purchased a 10” memory foam twin xl mattress and it fits like a glove. Changing the sheets can be a bit of a challenge, but it isn’t super terrible. It’s a very sturdy day bed and seems like it will hold up in the long run.

This frame lasted 4 yrs. It cracked in the front bottom frame piece. On investigation, I found most screws had loosened. Which could explain small crack. It’s still quite useable, and a handy person might repair with ease. It has been used daily, sometimes by 2 people. Mostly as couch. I recommend this, just check your screws every year. This was used by adults, so no flopping down on it was tested. Probably could last 10 yrs.

We decided to put a daybed in our study as a sofa for ourselves and as a guest bed for the occasional overnight visitor. We are hefty Nordic/Germanic/Celtic types and so are most of our friends and relations. We were shocked to discover that most metal daybeds and several wooden ones were not designed to bear our weight. This one will, though not with much to spare. It is not the world’s most comfortable sofa, but with a mass of throw pillows against the back rail, it will do. Its advantage is that it looks quite nice and makes our study more rather than less habitable for a reasonable price, and it does not take up too much floor space as a sofa with a pull-out bed well might. Since we’ve only had it a few months we cannot tell how well it will hold up, but we are optimistic. Three people sit on it in a row without trouble when we have family meetings on Zoom. Putting it together was no trouble, but all the bolts had to be very well tightened. Choosing colourful bedding for it to complement the room was rather fun.
