Serious manufacturing defect and they sent the item without the trundle — do not buy. The holes for the staircase were misaligned making it impossible to completely build the bed. The bottom piece — the trundle — did not come with the item even though it’s what I selected and paid for.

It’s easy for my husband to assemble. The only problem we ran into was that one of the bars needed to be dedicated to the ladder, which we had already assembled at the bottom. So be careful where the railings are. I weigh 200 pounds, and when I slept on the top bunk, there were no dents in the bars. Both the top and bottom of the bed are designed with a middle support track. For that price, it’s great for my kids. It is nice and sturdy and we really like this bed.
