   If you have an old wooden bed frame, like we do, this is perfect to replace the box spring. We upgraded our mattress this year, and it’s about double the thickness of our old one. With the box spring, it was so tall, you had to jump into bed. So we needed a way to remove the box spring and still support the mattress. The combo needed was this frame, plus (8) 1”x6” boards. Without this frame rail, the boards would have too much of a gap to support, and most likely would bend or break under the weight of the mattress+occupants.

   It’s very easy to retrofit this into the bed, and is adjustable for multiple heights and bed widths. We were missing one nut, but I had a spare in the garage.
